DARJEELING
Darjeeling is one of the beautiful hill stations in India. Darjeeling, still the “Queen of the Hill” is situated at an altitude of 2134 meters. So far known as the best travel destination in the north east state of India. It has magnificent views of snowcapped Kanchanjanga, valleys of small mountains, beautiful tea gardens, variety of green trees with the beautiful people. Darjeeling is considered as popular flowering land of different variety of flower, like rhododendrans, orhids and magnolia etc. Darjeeling Himalayan Rail (DHR) popularly called “Toy Train” is the another jweal of Darjeeling Town is declared as World Heritage by UNESCO by British Crown in 1981. Darjeeling is surrounded by many beautiful spots like Rock Garden, Nightingale Park, HMI (Himalayan Mountaineering Institute), Tea gardens attached to the town, Rock garden, Beautiful sun rise view from Tiger Hill. Chowrasta is another spot to relax in the evening. KALIMPONG
Kalimpong is a beautiful place of grate attraction. This sleepy little town situated at an altitude of 1,200 mtrs, some 50 kms to the east of Darjeeling. It once used to be the hub of the trans-Himalayan trade between India and Tibet when merchants used to ferry commerce by mule caravan over the Jelepla pass on the Sikkim-Tibet border.
The places to visit are Kalimpong Arts and Craft Center for handicraft goods; Tharpa Choling Monastery, a repository of old scriptures, and documents; Thongsa (Bhutan) Monastery, the oldest in the area; Dharmodaya Vihar, a Nepalese Bhuddhist Temple; Parnami Mandir and Mangal Dham; Durpin Danda from where the mountain ranges of Sikkim, including Jelepla, Tiger Hill and the confluence of the Relli, Riang and Tista rivers can be views Zong Dog Palri Fo Brang Monastery at Durpin Danda; deolo View Point for magnificent views: and Kalimpong famous flower nurseries.
PELLING
Pelling is located at the foothills of Mount Khangchendzonga in northeast India, Sikkim. It is a popular destination for adventure and a serene place for planning holidays in Sikkim. From lakes and waterfalls, indulging in shopping, to unveiling the secrets of historical ruins, there are many things to do in Pelling, Places of interest at Pelling are Kanchenjunga Waterfalls, Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins, Singshore Bridge, Tashiding Monastery, Dubdi Monastery, Rimbi Waterfall, Kaluk Village and Kanchenjunga National Park.
GANGTOK
Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges. It has an amazing view of mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain peak in the world. Also like everything around it, Gangtok is abundant in natural beauty and has various natural attractions such as the Tsomgo Lake, Ban Jhakri falls, Tashi viewpoint and more.
Package Itenary
Day 1 - Siliguri to Darjeeling
As you arrive at the Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), prepare yourself for an extraordinary journey, our representative will guide you all the way to Darjeeling. As you ascend try to relax your mind along the windy roads of the mountain and tea gardens. After the drive of 3 hours approx. you will reach your destination Darjeeling. Check in your hotel, have your lunch and after freshening up, let’s go to Chowrasta. Sit on a pheripral bench for a while, relax and enjoy the beauty of the place. Then take a stroll along the scenic Mall Road, Bhanu Bhawan and a complete circle. If you reach early morning then you can visit Mahakal Mindir (temple) which is a secret place of Hindus. Later in the evening one can go shopping in the market, as Darjeeling market has different variety of shops like Tea Shop, Garments shop, Curio shop, Souvenir, sports shop, many hotels with the different variety of foods. Over night stay in Hotel.
Day 2 - Darjeeling Sightseen whole day
Early morning start for Tiger Hill (subject to availability of pass) to watch the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on the Mt. Kanchendzonga (Worlds 3rd highest peak), Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batashia Loop War Memorial while returning to the Hotel. After breakfast followed by Half day mixed point local sightseeing covering RopeWay, Tenzing rock, Gombu Rock, Padmaja N. Zoological Garden, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda. After that visit to the Mall (Chowrasta) along with local Market for City Life. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Darjeeling to Kalimpong
After breakfast drive to Kalimpong (4000 ft), a drive of 58 km. Also known as the garden of flowers, the town has almost everything that defines scenic beauty like flowers, greenery, waters, mists and clouds. On arrival at Kalimpong, check into a hotel. Evening free stroll around Kalimpong Bazar for shopping of handicraft and relics, overnight stay in the Holel.
Day 4 - Kalimpong full day sightseen
Early morning breakfast and start the day for sightseeing. Kalimpong weather is milder and pleasant for most part of the year. Kalimpong offers monasteries, temples, tourist complexes, heritage schools, charitable institutes- Your tour starts with Durphin Monastery, Army Gulf Course,Nursery , Dello, Hanuman Tok, Dr. Grahams Home, Back to hotel and enjoy meal. In the evening toursits can visit Kalimpong Bazar for shopping handicraft which is very famous in entire Darjeeling district.
Day 5 - Kalimpong to Pelling
Early morning have breakfast and drive to Pelling – It is approximately 100 kilometers i.e. 03 ½ - 04 hours’ drive by road – Pelling is situated at an altitude of 2072 meters / 6800 feet - On a clear day guest can get a clear view of Himalayan range with snow capped mount Pandim, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Khangchendzonga, Zopuno, Shimbho, Narsing, Sinolchu etc - It is one of the exotic settlement with varieties of Rhododendron, Orchids, historical sites, short trek routes and wildlife – Its botanical and zoological richness is inspiring and the scenic view from the top of the ridge across deep valley to the heights of Kanchendzonga ranges is something to be seen to be believed Check into hotel - Evening free to roam around the small settlement - Over Night stay at Pelling
Day 6 - Pelling full day sightseen
After breakfast at hotel – Drive for Full Day Sight Seeing. The routes are forested and the botanical and zoological richness is inspiring. Places of visit are Rimbi water Falls, Rimbi Rock Garden, Kechopalri Lake, it is one of the holy Buddhist lake and it is believed that any wish in front of the lake comes true - Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird and thus the water surface is always free of leaves, Kechopalri Monastery, Kanchenjunga water Falls, Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdantse ruins, the scenic view from the top of the ruin to the mystic heights of Kanchendzonga ranges is something to be cherished – Back to hotel – Evening free to roam around the helipad or Shopping center - Over Night stay at Pelling
Day 7 - Pelling to Gangtok
After the early breakfast in the hotel our driver will drive you to Gangtok via one of the famous monasteries, the Pemayangtse Monastery. It is the seat of the Nyingma Order of Tibetan Buddhism and was originally a small Lhakhang built by Lhatsun Chempo in the 17th Century. The monastery contains numerous antique idols and objects of worship and is filled with wall paintings and sculptures, Rabdentse Ruins is another archeological site that tells Sikkim’s story of glory. Until 1814 A.D, it was the second capital of Sikkim, established by the Chogyal II. The ruins of Rabdentse Palace are just a walk away from the Pemayangtse Monastery through the dense forest and 15 minutes distance from Pelling. Lunch on the way at the road side hotel, and then heading to Gangtok through windy road and mountains, valley and rivers. Check in the hotel. Take rest and freshen up, in the evening visitors can visit MG marg, the tourist hub of Gangtok. Smoke and vehicle free boulevard square with shops and restaurants lined up on both sides. A great place to siton a bench and feel the carnival like ambience, walk down to Lal Bazar for more shops. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 8 - Excursion to Tsongo Lake and Baba Mindir (full day)
Kickstart your day with a hearty meal as today is going to be a fun day. According to your pre-decided schedule, you will be visiting Tsomgo Lake (12,400 Feet), a high-altitude lake that is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhist. After spending few minutes at the lake, you will visit the Baba Mandir (13,200 Feet). Dinner and Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 9 - Gangtok to Bagdogra Ariport (IXB)/ New Jalpaiguri (NJP)
After your tea and breakfast, check out the hotel rooms and the driver will drive through windy roads to your way back to home or at Bagdogra Airport or Njp. This is where your journey with Luneva Expedition will come to an end.
